17-year-old Mason Ricard from Kent, UK, spoke at the Internet Governance Forum’s annual conference in Berlin and challenged ideas on how to protect young people online. This impressive teenager addressed an audience of global professionals and experts in their field.
Without hesitation, Mason takes to the stage to share his thoughts on why the UN convention on the Rights of The Child needs to add a general comment that now includes the digital world.
Mason had previously spoken at a UN event, hosted by the youth rights charity 5Rights based in London. He and four peers created a podcast episode exploring the rights of the child online and what needs to change to increase protection globally.
